We currently raise both Dorper and White Dorper sheep breeds
(Dorper has a black head and the White Dorper has a white head),
and are gradually phasing out the Dorper stock to concentrate
solely on White Dorper production. We run about 1,300 head of
sheep in our paddocks.
The Dorper is a hardy, fertile breed which gains weight rapidly
at an early age, is disease resistant and sheds its fleece, which
means there's no need for mulesing, crutching or shearing. For
all these reasons, the Dorper is perfectly suited to our organic
farming model.
For more information on the Dorper breed visit the Dorper
Society website.
